Start with a few supplies and turn the wilderness into a place you can call home. PROTOGAIA is an isometric survival and crafting sandbox from RO Game design, playable solo or online with friends, now in early access.

Gather wood and stone, make your first tools, and choose what comes next: a shelter, a growing patch of crops, or another journey beyond the village.

Build your everyday adventure

• Explore a procedural world. Travel through the wilderness, discover settlements, and venture underground.
• Survive and prepare. Manage hunger, thirst and stamina as you gather resources and craft equipment.
• Build and furnish. Place floors, walls, doors, storage and crafting stations to shape your own space.
• Grow and care. Cultivate crops and discover animal taming and husbandry systems.
• Meet village life. Encounter inhabitants with daily work and watch settlements respond to the world around them.
• Find your way. Use the minimap and detailed world map to navigate and mark locations.

Play solo or bring your friends

Share a world through online multiplayer. Choose Host this world in the start menu and share the six-letter invite code. Friends open their copy of the game, enter the code under join a friend's world, and join your hosted world.

Explore, gather and build together. The host's browser runs and saves the world, so the host must keep the game open while everyone plays. Guests disconnect when the host closes the game. Invite-code connections depend on network conditions and may not work on restrictive networks. Multiplayer is also in early access.

A dedicated-server connection option is available for players with a separately configured server; a hosted server service is not included with the game.

Early access: what you are buying

This is a playable game in active development, not a finished release. The current build includes exploration, survival, crafting, building, farming and village systems. Visuals, animation, balance and interactions are still being refined; bugs and rough edges remain.

Please judge your purchase by the current gameplay screenshots and available build. No completion date or fixed update schedule is promised. Export a backup of important worlds before updating.

Play on your desktop

The download contains a self-contained HTML game. Open it in a modern desktop browser and choose Play solo, Host this world, or join a friend by invite code. A keyboard and mouse are required; the current build has been checked in Microsoft Edge on Windows. Mobile and controller play are not advertised for this release.

Worlds are saved locally in your browser. Use the world menu to export and import saves. Clearing browser data can remove locally saved worlds.

Getting started

• WASD: move. Shift: sprint.
• Left click: gather, attack or place the selected object, depending on mode.
• 1–0: select a hotbar slot. Mouse wheel: zoom.
• C: crafting. B: building. I: inventory.
• M: world map. J: journal. F1: controls.

Start by crafting a stone axe and pickaxe with your supplies. Equip a tool, gather resources, and use the journal to guide your next steps.
